Deepak Kumar Samantara (Khurda) and Dillip Kumar Jena (Bhubaneswar) won the titles in men`s open kata and kumite categories respectively in the 26th State Karate Championship, which concluded at Saheed Nagar Indoor Hall here today.
Sujata Sahoo (Rourkela) and Anupama Swain (Bhubaneswar) emerged champion in women open kata and kumite respectively. Veteran journalist Barendra Krushna Dhal handed over the trophies at the closing function.
Among other notable achievers, Payal Baral (Koraput), Somu Nayak (Sundargarh), Abhishek Pattnaik (Rourkela), Udit Uddam (Angul) and Anirudh Pratap Singh (Bhubaneswar) bagged a double each.
Around 350 karatekas joined the three-day championship, which is being conducted by Odisha State Karate-do Association.
